Odd that the only Tory words we're hearing about this scandal are from Bernard Jenkin, and his worry isn't so much the corruption itself, but what it might do to the Tory vote in the 'red wall' constituencies like Redcar.
Meanwhile, not a word about it from Redcar's own Tory MP. Instead, he's busy letting everyone know about the death of the Duke of Edinburgh, with an unbroken stream, over several days, of no less than 21 successive tweets expressing his sympathies - or rather, saving himself that bother and repeating the words of others instead. Maybe it's the 'dead cat' strategy to divert attention? Though there's another new word that describes it even better, but would best be used in another thread rather than subvert this one!.
