The Zetland Museum have started a 'just giving' page to try and encourage people to support their local charity and help maintain the Zetland Lifeboat.. Something we all should be aware of is that the historic vessel is ours... Yes Ours ! not belonging to anyone else but the Redcar people. Lord Zetland gifted the boat to the Redcar people in 1864.
"The Friends of Zetland Lifeboat
" is a registered charity with the sole aim of conserving the Zetland Lifeboat together with fitting out the area around the historic vessel complete with a purpose made authentic looking carriage.
Without any external funding whatsoever we rely upon donations to maintain the museum so that future generations can appreciate the heroic deeds of our forefathers. From April to October the museum is free to all and open every day.
If you are able to make a donation via our Just Giving page we guarantee that every penny will be spent on the Zetland and her environs.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
